Regularly dubbed the “subsea limousine”, the C-Explorer 5 from U-Boat Worx offers a new dimension of private luxury beneath the waves — seating one pilot and four guests in an air-conditioned, 360° panoramic sphere capable of exploring depths of up to 200 meters.

This luxury pre-owned submersible has been meticulously engineered, impeccably maintained, and is now ready for its next visionary owner.

Originally launched to offer exclusive dive experiences to discerning cruise guests aboard a luxury liner, the C-Explorer 5 later operated as a tourist submersible in the Caribbean, delighting adventurers from around the world.

Her sister vessels serve aboard explorer yachts, research platforms, and private expeditions, confirming the C-Explorer 5’s reputation as the ultimate combination of versatility and experience.

This C-Explorer 5 is a Mark II design, developed following U-Boat Worx’s introduction of the original five-seater models a few years earlier.

Over her distinguished career, this submersible has operated across the globe — from Southeast Asia to Antarctica and the Caribbean — performing dives from cruise ships, private yachts, and the Sub Center Curaçao, a premier shore-based submarine operation in the Caribbean.

Following her period in tourist operations, she was returned to the manufacturer for a complete overhaul, which is now nearing completion and will be finalised upon sale of the unit.

The C-Explorer 5 is nearing completion of a comprehensive factory overhaul and can be redelivered with a new 10-year classification survey performed at the U-Boat Worx facility.

Depending on the client’s specific equipment requirements, the submersible can be ready for sea trials within a few months, subject to the manufacturer’s production schedule.

Sea trials with DNV and U-Boat Worx, along with operator training, will be coordinated directly with the new owner to ensure a seamless delivery and thorough handover process.

The submersible will be delivered with a full manufacturer’s warranty.
